Ayize gave a lengthy speech on December 12, 2008, one day before his first birthday, and I was thrilled that I had the camera ready and caught it on film. It took him a few seconds to really get going, but once he did, he was off and running!
Then, in early November of this year, a month before his fourth birthday, we visited my sister's house where he met his brand new baby niece. While we were there, he held court with his two older nieces, and demonstrated his newly-discovered love of "rapping" - Ayize-style, that is. If you get him started with a phrase, he'll take it as an opener, then continue with totally random monotonous nonsense-speak, complete with facial expressions that will have you in stitches.
Amazing, to witness the development of speech over just a few years, despite everything he has been through with his hearing.
And yet, if you judge by this video, he only makes about as much sense as he did back in '08! LOL
