Long Time No See

Me bad blogger! So first off, apologies. Life has been a bit crazy lately!
Also -- just wanted to share a few funny moments from our day.
Don't worry, they're all short...and very sweet!

We were up so early that it seemed like a good time to dash to Toys R Us for Ayize's birthday present, eating our breakfast on the way. He's been relentlessly attacking our antique guitar so I picked up a toy acoustic guitar on sale.
Unfortunately, even on sale at twenty bucks, it was a bit pricey when apparently all I had to really do was buy him a two-dollar spinning top.
On the other hand, he learned a valuable physics lesson in balance -- this thing can sustain its whirling vortex for almost a full minute! And he got a little aerobic exercise in, to boot!
Anyone remember gym class when our teacher would hold one end of a jumping rope and whip that sucker round and round so we had to jump our asses off or risk serious ankle burn??
Good times!

Course, I should have kept the faith. Not long after the video above, he finally got the hang of the guitar.
Well...sort of.

Wiggleworms. Yeah, those are his jammies. Toys R Us set our morning schedule back pretty badly!
He worked so hard to set his penguin tambourines up just right, only to be comically perplexed by their mysterious disappearance the moment his back was turned!

So then he wised up. LOL

The bubbles came out and he was all, "pop pop pop", and then he helped our teacher Shana sing the "B is for bubbles" song. Capped off his performance with the silliest bubble-popping technique I've ever seen a toddler employ!

Post-nap, we broke out the Thomas Playhut (his other birthday gift, the one I got suckered into this morning because it cost the same as the amount I saved on his sale guitar LOL) and he decided to "bring it to life". Literally!
The best moment actually happened just before this but sadly, I didn't catch it on tape. The Playhut accidentally bumped into a wall and from within, a small voice could be heard saying to itself thoughtfully, "Oh. Ow nose" before continuing along its merry way.

Poor Turkey -- our budgie -- needed an emergency run to her doc at my old job, so we headed out in the snowstorm for a STAT boody-ball removal (don't ask).
Katie was kind enough to entertain Ayize with paper cup train tunnels and the poor man's version of Wii Frisbee, i.e. the imaginary edition. LOL

Okay people, you got a nice break from my rantings recently, but much to your dismay, I'm back in the saddle! With Ayize's two-year birthday rapidly approaching, I can pretty much guarantee tons of reminiscing and rhapsodizing and sentimental ramblings about Where did the time go? so consider yourselves warned!

Lots of love and happy holidays to all!

Giving it my all every day, trying to do a job meant for two people to share. There are ups, there are downs. But my fantabulous kid makes the downs bearable and the ups immeasurable. Ayize, you're the greatest! I love you with all my heart!!! For more whining and ranting, and a better profile descript than I could possibly fit here, see the June 3, 2009 post entitled "The 168 Hour Work Week". Thanks for stopping by!
