Short & Sweet

Let's face it, my posts are always interminable, so here's a recap of our weekend in five hundred words * or less...

Thursday AM -- Triangle Park jazz hands in the clown cutout

Thursday PM -- He flies solo on the big slide at Central Park

Friday AM -- LDS playgroup at Janet's pool

Friday PM -- Stephen and Ayize converse like gentlemen at Lighthouse Beach

...and I fly me some kite (hint: look way, way up)

Saturday AM -- We bike to Eggleston Park to meet Ayize's gal pals

Saturday PM -- Grandma says he looks a little demented

...and hooray for Madison and Sophia's beautiful ballet performances!

Sunday AM -- Ayize rings the farm bell (with a little help from godfather Pete)

...and I hit the tree branch swing

...and Ayize pets Sue, who is most patient with him

Now grab your popcorn, it's time for two short flicks!

Saturday afternoon -- After the girls' ballet recital, we head to their crizznib where Sophie gives us a front-row show...but Ayize is determined to give a show of his own.
First, he performs his own artistic interpretation of Coppelia; next, he shows off his lithe agility by jumping through hoops (a trick he learned at the Strut for Strays Doggie Carnival, by the way); and finally, he demonstrates his advanced ability to dress himself.
Aaaah, my precocious little son! Who knows what he'll be up to tomorrow -- unraveling whole rolls of toilet paper; leaving black marks all over the wall by driving his Matchbox cars up and down them; throwing everything of any worth into the nasty, filthy, long-defunct Disposall under the kitchen island where I just found my wallet...oh yes, he has many gifts.

Sunday morning -- Ayize vies for attention from Peter and Jo Jo by practicing backwards-walking (another extremely useful talent to cultivate, for you never know when you might have to walk backwards in life) at the farm. They barely bat an eye, much to his disappointment.

* I didn't actually perform a word count but let's just pretend for convenience's sake!

My Photo
Giving it my all every day, trying to do a job meant for two people to share. There are ups, there are downs. But my fantabulous kid makes the downs bearable and the ups immeasurable. Ayize, you're the greatest! I love you with all my heart!!! For more whining and ranting, and a better profile descript than I could possibly fit here, see the June 3, 2009 post entitled "The 168 Hour Work Week". Thanks for stopping by!
